As you can tell by now, I am such a romantic at heart. Decided to do flower themed cupcakes. Roses are featured predominantly in these cupcakes even though the only type of roses I like are the big, red America long stems. The ones we have just are not quite the same even if they declare it is the same thing. 
For some contrast, I did rosettes using butter cream icing instead of just the gum paste roses you saw above.
I also added in mini flowers made of sugar and sprinkled some edible silver pearls.
Of course with flowers, I could not resist a butterfly (which I feel did not turn out as well as I would have wanted but hey, it’s my first attempt) as well as ladybugs.
